A custom lawn care program to keep your lawn healthy and green
We offer a 4-step lawn application program designed to keep your lawn healthy throughout the growing season.
Each visit is timed to meet the needs of the turf as conditions change from spring through fall. Applications
are typically spaced about 6-8 weeks apart, and we can also tailor a program to fit your specific lawn, goals,
and budget.
Our program focuses on season-long fertilization, weed prevention, weed control, and turf health.
Timing matters, product selection matters, and local conditions matter. That is why every lawn is
evaluated through the season instead of treated with a one-size-fits-all approach.
1. Spring Application
Mid-March through Early May
Crabgrass Preventer and Fertilizer
- Crabgrass is much easier to prevent than to control after it has emerged.
- We apply a pre-emergent product designed to provide long residual control through the growing season.
- A lower nitrogen rate is typically used in spring to help avoid excessive top growth.
- This first visit is applied with granular material only. No liquid weed control is typically used on the first application.
2. Early Summer Application
May through Early July
Broadleaf Weed Control and Slow-Release Fertilizer
- This application includes a full broadcast spray for common broadleaf weeds such as dandelions and clover.
- Slow-release fertilizer is used to feed the lawn steadily for approximately 6-8 weeks.
- Depending on the blend, this application may include a portion of organic fertilizer.
- We also spot treat visible seasonal weeds such as crabgrass breakthroughs, nutsedge, and selected grassy weeds.
- Optional preventative grub control can be added during this visit.
3. Late Summer Application
Mid-July through Early September
Spot Weed Treatment and Slow-Release Fertilizer
- We spot treat broadleaf weeds and other weeds present, including nutsedge and crabgrass where needed.
- Slow-release fertilizer is applied to continue feeding the lawn for the next 6-8 weeks.
- This application timing may shift based on weather and turf stress.
- When lawns are heat-stressed and lacking moisture, we adjust timing to avoid unnecessary stress on the turf.
4. Fall Application
September through November
Winterizer Fertilizer and Broadleaf Weed Control
- A heavier rate of quick-release fertilizer is used to support root development going into colder weather.
- As top growth slows in the fall, turfgrass naturally shifts more energy toward the root system.
- A full broadcast broadleaf weed control application is included.
- Fall is one of the best times to control weeds and reduce weed pressure for the following spring.
Common Questions
What about my pets?
Pets should stay off treated turf until any weed control has dried. In most cases, that is about 2-4 hours,
depending on weather conditions.
How soon can I mow?
Please avoid mowing for 24-48 hours after treatment so the weed control has time to be absorbed by the plant.
How is my service applied?
We use professional ride-on applicator equipment to apply granular fertilizer prills and low-volume liquid weed control accurately and efficiently.
